Bacteriostatic Water 0.9%
Reconstitution diluent
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol added as a preservative. In the lab it is the standard fluid used to dissolve (reconstitute) lyophilized peptide powders into a liquid for handling and study. It is a diluent, not a research compound itself.
Also known as BAC water
How it is studied
The benzyl alcohol lets a single vial be drawn from multiple times while limiting microbial growth, which is why it is preferred over plain sterile water for multi-draw reconstitution.
Research context
Used to prepare lyophilized peptide reference materials into solution for laboratory research.
Strengths and availability
Single vials in stock: 3ml, 10ml. 10-vial kit prices are for wholesale members; the shop sells single vials and research bundles.
Certificates of analysis
No third-party certificate is published for Bacteriostatic Water 0.9% on this page. The certificate library lists every report we hold.
