Melanotan I
Skin-pigment-signal peptide
A lab-made, sturdier copy of a natural hormone (alpha-MSH) that acts as the body's main messenger for making skin pigment.
Also known as Afamelanotide · MT-1 · Melanotan-1 · NDP-MSH · [Nle4-D-Phe7]-α-MSH
How it is studied
It copies that natural pigment-signal hormone and switches on the same docking point on the body's pigment-making cells that the natural hormone uses — the signal the body normally uses to make more of the brown pigment in skin.
Research context
A reference tool in laboratory research on skin pigment and the pigment-signalling system. Research use only.
Research area
Skin, hair & pigment research. This group looks at small peptides — short chains of the building blocks that make up proteins — and copper-carrying peptides that scientists study alongside skin cells, hair-root tissue, and the body's natural color-making cells. Everything here is a reference material for laboratory research only.
Strengths and availability
Single vials in stock: 10mg. 10-vial kit prices are for wholesale members; the shop sells single vials and research bundles.
Certificates of analysis
No third-party certificate is published for Melanotan I on this page. The certificate library lists every report we hold.
