DSIP

Sleep-research peptide

DSIP is a short peptide first found in the 1970s in the blood of sleeping rabbits. It was named after those early experiments, where it showed up alongside the slow brain waves seen during deep sleep in animals.

Also known as Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide

How it is studied

How it works in the body is not well understood. In the research literature it is linked to sleep- and stress-related brain signaling, but scientists have not pinned down a specific place it acts on.

Research context

A reference compound in sleep and hormone research, studied in animal and laboratory models of the sleep-wake system.

Good to know

Only limited and inconsistent early research exists, and how it works is still unclear. Research use only.

Research area

Cognition, mood & sleep research. This group covers molecules that scientists study in the brain, in the body's stress-response system, and in the sleep-wake cycle. Most are short chains of amino acids (the tiny building blocks of proteins), and a couple are signaling substances the body makes on its own. All are described here for laboratory research only.

Strengths and availability

Single vials in stock: 5mg. Other listed strengths: 15mg, in stock. 10-vial kit prices are for wholesale members; the shop sells single vials and research bundles.

Certificates of analysis

We publish 1 third-party certificate of analysis for DSIP (Freedom Diagnostics). A certificate covers only the lot it was run on. Each report is also verifiable at the lab itself.
